A Covenant of Expectation

Few can deny that these are unprecedented times as attested by the following:

v    These are days of widespread fear and uncertainty

v     These are days of great loss of wealth and security for many;

v     These are days when loss of job and income is on the rise

v     These are days when want and scarcity are on the increase.

I understand that being God’s covenant people places us under an umbrella of privilege and a yoke of responsibility. In view of the present circumstances I am affirming my place in God’s covenant plan for my life and lay claim to my covenant benefits at a time when I recognize more than ever that my provision depends solely upon the sovereignty of God. I lay claim to the miraculous provision that has been the heritage of God’s people from Abraham to this day.

v    I (we) covenant with God to reaffirm my commitment to tithing – that the fear of uncertainty or scarcity will not affect my submission to His Lordship over my finances.

v     I (we) covenant with God to find a way to bestow of my goods upon those that suffer want. I promise to make anonymous gestures of benevolence upon those whom the Lord would lay on my heart.

v    I (we) covenant with God to seek His face, not just to pray casually and on the run but to get alone with God daily, to glean daily out of the Scriptures a word from God for my present situation, to learn how to intercede for miraculous provision to be released upon the people of God.

v     I (we) covenant with God to intercede for the flow of finance in His Kingdom, particularly for this church, that the support of missionaries will not be interrupted, that the student population of FCA would grow even as the economy is in jeopardy.

v     I (we) covenant with God to believe for Goshen blessings upon His people – that His people will not be affected by lay-offs and closings, that when finances are contracting in households throughout the nation the finances of God’s people will increase, that those who own businesses will experience growth in revenues and profits even when the businesses of unbelievers are in decline.

v     I (we) covenant with God to handle my finances wisely, to be a good steward of the resources He places into my hands.

v     I (we) covenant with God to give faithful witness of His unusual and supernatural provision in our lives, with a spirit of humility, serving the need of the Body of Christ for encouragement and edification.
